About Ezio Marchetti

Ezio Marchetti is a runner and storyteller exploring the world at human speed.

Originally from Italy, he trained as a building engineer, completing two master’s degrees and building what many would consider a stable life: a good job, an apartment, and a clear career path.

Yet something always felt missing.

Who is Ezio?

Runner and storyteller

One of the journeys that shaped this perspective was a crossing of the Via Alpina: more than 2,000 kilometres and 115,000 meters of elevation, completed self-supported in 60 days across the Alps.

It was intense, but the most important lesson was not about endurance.

Learning to slow down

Ezio came back with a different thought: next time, he would go slower, taking time to meet people and connect with the places he was moving through.

Time spent in Kenya, living and training among local runners while working on the early stages of this project, reinforced that feeling even more.

Again and again, he encountered openness and generosity.

Those experiences slowly shaped the idea behind Destination Humans.

A turning point

Stepping away from a conventional path wasn’t easy.

After years of uncertainty, Ezio made the decision to leave his job and turn a long-standing idea into a real project.

In June 2026, he will begin a long-term journey starting from North Cape, Norway, running and walking across continents at human speed.

Why this project

The goal is simple: to meet people, listen to their stories, and share the humanity that exists beyond the headlines.

Because sometimes, the most interesting destination is simply another human being.
